Submission Of Business To The Plan
All agents and brokers holding a valid license to transact automobile insurance in the state of Iowa are eligible to submit applications to the Plan.
Applications may be submitted electronically via the Electronic Application Submission Interface (EASi). To register to use EASi, click on the link below.
Premium Estimation Producers are to estimate the premium using the Plan Manual. The assigned company reserves the right to adjust the premium either prior to or after the issuance of the policy, whenever applicable. Effective February 14, 2005, the Iowa Automobile Plan offers an online rating interface for certain private passenger risks applying for auto insurance coverage through the Plan. The online rating interface is a feature of the Plan's Electronic Application Submission Interface (EASi). To access rating interface click the Access EASi link above.
Application Form Producers must use the approved Iowa Automobile Insurance Plan application form.
Change in Policy Coverage
Any change to an existing policy must be submitted directly to the assigned Company on the approved Policy Change Request form. If the change requested increases the premium, a 30% deposit must be included with the Policy Change Request form.
Problem with an Assigned Company
If there is a problem relating to rating, service, or a claim, the producer should contact the assigned company. When calling the assigned company, keep a record of the telephone calls specifying the date of the call, the name of the person contacted, and his or her response.
If, after following normal business procedures, a satisfactory response is not received from the assigned company, or if the assigned company has not performed in accordance with the standards established by the Plan, then you may then submit a Company Performance Complaint Form to the company. Send a copy of your complaint to the Plan office and include a copy of your file. The Plan office can then get actively involved in resolving the problem.
