About Adobe PDF
About the Adobe Format: Adobe Portable Document
Format, or PDF, is a format that can be viewed and printed using the Adobe Acrobat
Reader a free, and easily available software. The software is available at the Adobe web
site: www.adobe.com. or by clicking the
yellow button marked "Get Acrobat Reader" on the bottom of this page. We
recommend using the most recent version of the software as it will reduce or eliminate
problems with large files.
Using Adobe Reader: If you have the Adobe Reader
installed on your PC you may either view the AIPSO PDF documents directly in your browser
or download them to your PC and view them. If you choose to download a file that is
subject to change, like the Plan Manual, it is very
important to keep in mind that portions of the Manual do change. You
should regularly check this site for updates to the Manual. An electronic update notification
service, which will notify registered users via e-mail whenever the manuals are updated,
is available. Choose one of the subscription options on the menu to the left.
Special problems with large documents: Note that the
PDF version of some AIPSO documents are very large, and users of Internet Explorer with
version 3 of the Acrobat Reader may have difficulty viewing these documents directly in
the browser. To avoid these problems, you should either use the latest version of Acrobat
Reader or download the Manual directly to disk before viewing it. To download the Manual
directly to disk, simply right-click on the Manual link and select the option "Save
Target As. . .". Once the file has been copied to your hard disk you may safely use
Acrobat Reader version 3 to view it.
