The Maryland Industry Automobile Insurance Association (MIAIA) is a statutory, unincorporated, non-profit association of insurers established pursuant of the provisions of Title 20, Subtitle 4 of the Maryland Insurance Code.

The purpose of the MIAIA is to perform those functions required by the provisions of Title 20, Subtitle 4 of the Maryland Insurance Code, including the appointment of an Association Manager; levy assessments (including the insufficiency assessment for the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund (MAIF)), and appointment of five members to the MAIF Board of Trustees.

Each insurer licensed to write motor vehicle liability or physical damage insurance in the State of Maryland on a direct basis, except the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund, is a member of the Association and shall remain a member of the Association as long as it retains its authority to write such insurance in the State of Maryland.
