Governing Committee

The Minnesota Automobile Insurance Plan is administered by a Governing Committee consisting of nine voting members, five of which shall be Plan subscriber members, and four of which shall be public members.  There shall also be three non-voting company members.

Two subscriber company members shall be chosen from the following classes of companies:

  • American Insurance Association (AIA)
  • Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI)
  • Nonaffiliated Insurance Companies (NAF)

Each trade association shown above shall nominate one voting and one non-voting representative to the Committee.

Two subscriber companies shall be voting at-large representatives as elected in Section 37.B.3.

Public Members are appointed by the Commissioner of Commerce and serve two-year terms.

Nonaffiliated Companies will be polled by the Manager to determine those companies desiring to serve on the Committee. A ballot will be sent to the nonaffiliated companies to nominate their representatives.
