Welcome to the Missouri Joint Underwriting Association homepage.

The Missouri Joint Underwriting Association (MJUA) was created pursuant to Sections 303.200 and 379.460 R.S. MO., to provide automobile insurance coverages to those eligible applicants who are unable to obtain coverage in the voluntary market.

All insurers writing automobile insurance in Missouri are required to participate in the MJUA by subscribing to the MJUA.

All agents and brokers holding a valid license to transact automobile insurance in the state of Missouri are eligible to be certified to submit applications to the MJUA.

Applicants must declare and certify that they have tried and failed to obtain automobile insurance in Missouri within the preceding 60 days and have been unable to obtain such insurance at rates not exceeding those applicable under the MJUA. Applicants must also have a valid drivers license or be eligible to obtain one through a filing. For further information, consumers should consult their agent or broker.
