Plan of Operation

Section 1A is amended to introduce the definition of civil union and reference parties in a civil union in the definition of “person”.

Section 12 is amended to include parties in a civil union in the list of those eligible, if required, to receive a Financial Responsibility Certificate (SR-22).

Section 18 is amended to clarify intent and to require pro rata cancellation if there is a concurrent auto policy in the same company covering another auto in the name of a party in a civil union with the insured.

Manual of Rules and Rates

Rule 7 is amended to clarify intent and to require pro rata cancellation if there is a concurrent auto policy in the same company covering another auto in the name of a party in a civil union with the insured.

Rule 82 is amended to provide drive other car coverage to parties in a civil union with the insured.

These amendments are effective September 1, 2008.
