Submission Of Business To The Plan

All agents and brokers holding a valid license to transact automobile insurance in the state of South Dakota are eligible to submit applications to the Plan.

Premium Estimation
There is no premium quotation service provided by the Plan.

Producers are to estimate the premium using the Plan Manual. The assigned company reserves the right to adjust the premium either prior to or after the issuance of the policy, whenever applicable.

Application Form

Producers must use the approved South Dakota Automobile Insurance Plan application forms. These are available for a charge from AIPSO and can be ordered using the Application/Manual Order Form link below. These are also available on line free of charge in PDF format and can be accessed using the Online Form link below.

Change in Policy Coverage

Any Change to an existing policy must be submitted directly to the assigned Company.

Problems with an Assigned Company

If there is a problem relating to rating, service, or a claim, the producer should contact the assigned company. When calling the assigned company, keep a record of the telephone calls specifying the date of the call, the name of the person contacted, and his or her response.

If, after following normal business procedures, a satisfactory response is not received from the assigned company, or if the assigned company has not performed in accordance with the standards established by the Plan, then you may then submit a Company Performance Complaint Form to the company. Send a copy of your complaint to the Plan office and include a copy of your file. The Plan office can then get actively involved in resolving the problem.
