The South Carolina Legislature has approved Regulation 69-62, which provides for
the close-out and termination of the South Carolina Associated Auto Insurers
Plan (JUA) effective June 30, 2007.
SCAAIP became effective on March 1, 1999 and was subsequently replaced by the
Associated Auto Insurers Plan of South Carolina (AAIPSC) on March 1, 2003. With
the implementation of the AAIPSC, the SCAAIP commenced run-off of JUA business.
The regulation provides for the termination and orderly transfer of business
affairs and liabilities of the SCAAIP to the AAIPSC effective July 1, 2007.
