The Minnesota Automobile Assigned Risk Plan (MNAIP) became effective December 18, 1942. The name was changed to the Minnesota Automobile Insurance Plan. The Plan became statutory effective January 1, 1972.

All insurers writing automobile insurance in Minnesota are required to participate in the MNAIP.

All agents and brokers holding a valid license to transact automobile insurance in the state of Minnesota are eligible to submit applications to the Plan.

Applicants must declare and certify that they have tried and failed to obtain automobile insurance in Minnesota within the preceding 60 days and have been unable to obtain such insurance at rates not exceeding those applicable under the Plan. Applicants must also have a valid drivers license or be eligible to obtain one through a filing. For further information, consumers should consult their agent or broker.

Beginning Saturday, March 14 at 6 pm ET/5 pm CT/3 pm PT

Enhanced Login for AIPSO.com Users Coming Soon

To enhance account security, AIPSO.com will require email-based multifactor authentication to complete the login process, tentatively scheduled to begin March 21, 2026. Click here for more information.

EASi is displaying an important message after the Log In Screen that requires a Producer of Record to enter and verify their email address.   

  • Only the following individual should complete the email verification:
    • Legal holder of the license
    • Designated Responsible Party (DRP)
    • Principal Producer
  • The email entered must not be a shared or group email address
  • Once verified, the Producer of Record will receive a one-time 6-digit passcode at that email address.  Entering the passcode will be required to complete the process.  
  • The Email Verification message will no longer appear on the EASi Log In Screen for your Agency after the Email Verification process is completed, unless “Reverify” is needed to make a correction.  The message will appear, and steps 1-2 must be repeated.
