The Alabama Automobile Insurance Plan was created to provide automobile insurance coverage to eligible risks who seek coverage and are unable to obtain such coverage through the voluntary market (For complete eligibility requirements, see Section 20 and 36 of the Plan Manual). Eligible Alabama Automobile Insurance Plan risks are shared among companies writing automobile insurance in the state of Alabama. This Plan became effective May 17, 1948.

Any insurance agent holding a valid Property & Casualty license for the state of Alabama can write business through the ALAIP. Consumers possessing a valid Alabama driver's license and a vehicle registered in Alabama are eligible to be assigned through ALAIP. For further information consumers should consult their agent or broker.

AIPSO's Office Schedule - February 23, 2026

AIPSO's home office facility in Johnston RI and New York Plan office in New York City will be closed for onsite operations on Monday, February 23.

AIPSO remains open for business, however some home office based services may be delayed or unavailable including:

  • The Florida Automobile Joint Underwriting Association's policy administration services
  • The Rhode Island Service Center's payment processing services
  • Mail processing services for all regional/Plan offices headquartered in Johnston, Rhode Island, as well as for AIPSO’s New Jersey, Mid-Atlantic, Southeastern, and Western Region offices
  • Personal Automobile Insurance Procedure services for the Automobile Insurance Plans in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin.

All other AIPSO offices remain open.

EASi is displaying an important message after the Log In Screen that requires a Producer of Record to enter and verify their email address.   

 

  • Only the following individual should complete the email verification:
    • Legal holder of the license
    • Designated Responsible Party (DRP)
    • Principal Producer
  • The email entered must not be a shared or group email address
  • Once verified, the Producer of Record will receive a one-time 6-digit passcode at that email address.  Entering the passcode will be required to complete the process.  
  • The Email Verification message will no longer appear on the EASi Log In Screen for your Agency after the Email Verification process is completed, unless “Reverify” is needed to make a correction.  The message will appear, and steps 1-2 must be repeated.
