The West Virginia Automobile Insurance Plan (WVAIP) was created in order to provide insurance coverage for those people who can not obtain insurance through the voluntary market. In this capacity, the WVAIP ensures that these applicants are shared equitably among all insurers licensed to write auto insurance in the state of West Virginia.
Any insurance agent holding a valid Property & Casualty license for the state of West Virginia is eligible to write business through the WVAIP.
Consumers possessing a valid West Virginia driver's license and a vehicle registered in West Virginia are eligible to be assigned through the WVAIP. For further information consumers should consult their agent or broker.
